Could God love someone like me?

A LITTLE NUDGE
By Karl Faase
Making a change

misery
“Just look at these people:
locked into their present misery”

I once read an article which said that many people, "choose the certainty of misery over the misery of uncertainty". In practice, this means that no matter how bad your life is, you won't change because you can't be sure what the change will bring.

We often prefer the misery that we know because we can't stand the uncertainty of what change may do to us. This wouldn't matter, I guess, except that many people are unhappy. Life has lost its gloss, the future is frightening and we feel like we're just surviving.

Let me say something else here which I think is very important. Maybe you find yourself in your present predicament because it is the only way that God can get your attention. Maybe you have been on the run from God and in His love He is pursuing you to bring you into a personal relationship with Himself.

I believe that in such times of need, we need to turn to God honestly and transparently, to trust Him with our future.

So why don't we do this? Because we are afraid of change, afraid of what it might be like. Thus, we stay as we are, locked into our present misery.

Instead we should remember, "without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." (Hebrews chapter 11, verse 6.)

I encourage you turn over your life to the Lord Jesus Christ today.
